IOWA PREVIEW

Cole Whitt on Iowa

“Our team really overcame a lot last weekend at Darlington after we hit the wall in qualifying. We took an unfortunate situation and worked as a team to get a solid finish out of it. It was great to see both the 88 and 7 crews working together to get the backup car ready. I think it said a lot about JR Motorsports.

“This week Iowa will be interesting. Technically, it’s a short track, but it doesn’t race like one. It seems more like a speedway than anything. It does give you options as a driver. You can move around in the corners try different lines and find a place where your car will work well.

“Our 88 car looks great this week with the Dew Crew paint scheme. I’m a big fan of our red TaxSlayer car, but this Dew Crew car ranks up there, too. I know it will be a packed house in Iowa, so I’m hoping we can get some new Dew Crew members this weekend.”
