BRISTOL PREVIEW

Cole Whitt on Bristol

“We’re rolling off the truck this week with HendrickCars.com on our 88 Chevrolet.  It’s a great site and I’ve been on there a few times looking at pickup trucks.  They also have a really cool sweepstakes going on right now, where a couple lucky fans can win a VIP experience at Indy this summer.

“These past couple weeks have been good, but I’m going to keep working on it, keep working on myself.  I obviously have a lot to learn. Being a rookie, I’m going to learn throughout this entire season.  I look forward to seeing how this year will progress.

“It’s exciting to see Bristol on the schedule.  What a cool race track it is. It’s going to be important to get a good qualifying lap down.  That’s not the type of place where you can afford to qualify midpack. Track position is a huge deal at these types of short tracks.”

Dale Earnhardt Jr.“This is a big race for us and our sponsors.  We try hard to put together cool programs that will get our sponsors the most bang for their buck, and I think you’re seeing that from JR Motorsports across the board this weekend with all our teams. Danica’s Go Daddy program is really cool, and Cole is running with HendrickCars.com this week.  If we can drive business and keep Rick (Hendrick) happy, that works for all of us!

“This will be my second time in a TaxSlayer car this year.  I want to put these guys in Victory Lane pretty bad.  Bruce Cook (crew chief) and I are going to do everything we can.  Bristol is fun.  Bruce is pretty successful there, and I’ve had my share of success there.  Hopefully we can put it all together and make it happen for TaxSlayer and JR Motorsports this weekend.”

JRM MAKES 350TH START – JR Motorsports will make its 350th Nationwide Series start this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway.  Since its first race at Homestead-Miami Speedway in 2005, the team has amassed nine victories, 70 top-five and 147 top-10 finishes.  The company has also led 1,311 laps and earned seven poles during its eight years of competition.

HENDRICKCARS.COM OFFERS INDY DREAM SWEEPSTAKES – HendrickCars.com is the best destination for online shoppers of cars, offering a selection of 20,000 new, used and classic automobiles.  The site also offers CARFAX reports, nationwide delivery, and holds the distinction of housing one of the largest collections of manufacturer certified used cars in the world.  Visit HendrickCars.com for your chance to win the 2012 Indy Dream Weekend sweepstakes, which includes a VIP trip for two to the 2012 Brickyard 400.

ROOKIE BATTLE TIGHTENS – Rookie Cole Whitt has earned one top-five and two top-10 finishes in his first three starts in 2012.  He also landed Sunoco Rookie of the Race honors in two of those three events, ranking him second in the rookie standings.  He trails leader Austin Dillon by four points.

CHASSIS INFO FOR WHITT – The 88 team unloads chassis number 626 for Whitt at Bristol.  626 raced predominantly at 1.5-mile facilities in 2011.  The team raced 626 to two top-five and five top-10 finishes last year, including a season-best fourth-place showing at the second event in Chicago.
